The First National Bank of Killeen was established February 27, 1901, as Charter 5750. It issued 1882 Brown Backs, Date Backs, and Value Backs, and then 1902 Plain Backs until it became insolvent on November 16, 1920.

It returned to solvency on Jan 10, 1921, but it no longer printed currency. There are no small 1929 notes on this bank.

The National Bank Currency Census reports fifteen notes from the First National Bank of Killeen: six 1882 Date Backs, three Value Backs, and six 1902 Plain Backs.

This 1882 Value Back sold in January, 2015, at a Heritage Currency auction for $1,586.
