The Lufkin National Bank (Charter #5797) was established May 1, 1901. It printed $1,351,940 in Brown Backs, 1882 Date Backs, 1882 Value Backs, 1902 Plain Backs, and in 1929 Types 1 & 2 in $10's & $20's. The National Bank Note Census records 27 notes: 2 1882 Brown Backs, 4 1882 Date backs, 7 1882 Value Backs, 7 1902 Plain Backs, 5 1929 Type 1's and 2 1929 Type 2's. None of the 1929 notes presented here is among those cited by the NBNC.

The Angelina County National Bank of Lufkin (Charter #6009). was chartered November 2, 1901 and liquidated July 6, 1912. Its total issue was $52,050 in 1882 Brown Backs and 1882 Date Backs. The Kelly census reports 3 large notes for this bank. There are, in fact, now four.
