The First National Bank of Burkburnett
was chartered as 8706 in 1907 and lasted until 1933.
It failed that year and was rechartered as 13668, First National
Bank in Burkburnett.

It continued in that way until the end of the Natioanal Bank
period.
There were never two National Banks in Burkburnett at the same
time.
The census shows 34 notes for The
First National Bank of Burkburnett, fifteen Plain Backs
and nineteen 1929 Type 1's.
The First National Bank in Burkburnett did not issue currency.
This Plain Back sold at a Heritage
Auction in April 2015 for $493.
The First National Bank in
Burkburnett has fourteen notes in its census, all 1929 Type 2's.
Twelve are said to be Uncirculated. Of the two, one is a $5 Fine
grade, the other, a Very Good $5 note. Six of the notes are $5
notes numbered A000001 through A000006 The second six share the
same numbers, but are $10 notes.
A Type 2 $10 note, A000001, reportedly
sold in August 1997 at a Lyn Knight auction for $3,850. This
is not that note. It is the Fine $5 note from that bank.
The Philpott-Moody has no example
from these banks.
