"A historic building in Fabens has been turned into dust and rubble. The First National Bank building, designed by renowned architect Henry C. Trost and erected in 1925, was demolished in the past few days to give way to the construction of a new auto parts store, said Max Grossman, vice chairman of the El Paso County Historical Commission.
The demolition of the two-story brick building, located at Alameda Avenue, or Main Street, and Fabens Street, means not only the incalculable loss of another historic site but also signifies economic damage, he said."
