The Farmers National Bank of Hempstead
Hempstead is the
county seat of Waller County, 52 miles northwest of Houston on
TX 290.

Today, that
location is still filled by a bank.
The Farmers National Bank of Hempstead
was chartered number 4905, April 5, 1893, and closed February 7,
1925.
The Farmers National Bank of Hempstead
printed 1882 Brown Backs and Date Backs, and 1902 Date Backs
and Plain Backs.
The census records eight notes:
three 1882 Date backs and five 1902 Plain Backs. A Very Fine
$5 1902 Plain Back and an Uncirculated $10 1902 Plain Back are
in the Philpott-Moody Collection.
This 1902 Plain Back sold in April,
2009, at a Heritage Auction for $1,092.
