Hondo in 1909

Center for American History in partnership with The
Portal to Texas History, a digital repository hosted by the University
of North Texas Libraries.]
The current Hondo National Bank building indicated by the
horizontal red line is on what was N. Front St., now renamed
18th.
Since this map is from 1909, and the HNB only began in 1936,
the Front Street bank shown here may in fact be the First National
Bank,
which was displaced in 1906 from Bandera Avenue the vertical
red line by the Hondo State Bank, and replaced again in
1936 by the Hondo National Bank.
