The First National Bank of Mertzon was chartered in 1910 and continued printing to the end of the National Bank period.
The FDIC documents the bank's continuous existence since its inception.

The bank issued 1902 Date Backs and Plain Backs in $10's & $20's plus 1929 Type 1's, also in $10's & $20's.
In 25 years, it released $109,979, and in 1935, $6,000 was in circulation.
There were no notes in the census until now.
