was charterd on December 1, 1933, and January 9, 1934,
the Santa Anna National Bank succeeded The First National Bank.
Succeed is not absorb.
This is the same rechartering maneuver by which The Trinity National Bank morphed into The First National Bank of Trinity, The First National Bank of Falfurrias into The First National Bank in Falfurrias, etc.

Hence, the building pictured above.
Unlike the succeeding The First National Bank of Trinity, The Santa Anna National Bank did not print any 1929 Type 2's, and it had no National Bank charter number.

The First National Bank of Santa Anna issued 1902 Red Seals, 1902 Date Backs & Plain Backs. The National Bank Note Census reports two notes: one 1902 Red Seal and one 1902 Plain Back.

In 1997, at a Lyn Knight Auction, the Red Seal sold for $4,675. It was sold again in 2001 by Heritage Auctions with no price reported.
