Throckmorton is the county seat of Throckmorton County, about 125 miles northwest of Ft. Worth on TX 16 & US 380, or 73 miles southwest of Wichita Falls on TX 79.

The First Nationak Bank of Throckmorton was chartered national bank number 6001, October 28, 1901. It continued in business until September 12, 2015, when it was acquired by Interbank.

The First Nationak Bank of Throckmorton printed 1882 Brown Backs, Date Backs, and Value Backs, 1902 Plain Backs, and then 1929 Types 1 & 2.

The census has twenty-five entries: four 1882 Value Backs, seven 1902 Plain Backs, twelve 1929 Type 1's. and two Type 2's.
The Philpott-Moody Collection has one 1882 Value Back and two 1902 Plain Backs.

This Plain Back sold at a Heritage auction in May, 2010, for $747.
