Velasco National Bank of Velasco

Velasco is in Brazoria County at the mouth of the Brazos River, across the river north from Freeport .

The river is what you see in the background. The First National Bank is at the lower left.

The bank was chartered in 1891 and ceased printing money in 1904.
There is in the census, only one note, a number 1, $10 1882 Brown Back.

In 2005, Lyn Knight auctioned it for $66,125.

in 2010, Heritage sold the same note for $37,750
